Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about selling your house as-is to homeBgone.
What does “as-is” mean?
You sell the house in its current condition. No repairs, no cleaning, no showings. We still do a walk-through and a normal title search before closing.
Who is actually buying my house?
homeBgone is a brand of Houston Long, a licensed Georgia real estate agent with Main Street Realty. When you meet, Houston explains who the buyer is and his role, and it’s all spelled out in the Georgia paperwork before you sign.
Do you sell my contract to another investor?
No. When we agree on a price, we close on it ourselves. After closing, we clean it out, fix what’s needed, and resell it.
How do you come up with your price?
The same way for every house: what it might sell for after repairs, minus repairs, cleanout, holding and resale costs, and a margin for risk. We’ll walk you through the numbers.
Will your price be lower than listing?
Usually, yes. An as-is sale trades some price for speed and convenience. Depending on the home, Houston can also give you a listing estimate so you can compare.
Will I get a listing option too?
Depending on the home, yes. Some houses are a better fit for listing, some for an as-is sale, and some could go either way. Houston will be upfront about which applies to yours.
Do I have to clean out the house?
No. Take what you want to keep and leave the rest.
Are there any fees?
There’s no fee to get a price. Who pays which closing costs is spelled out in the written offer, so there are no surprises.
How fast can we close?
It depends on title work and paperwork. A Georgia closing attorney handles the closing, and we work around your schedule.
I’m behind on payments. Can you help?
We can’t stop a foreclosure, and we won’t promise to. No pressure, no hassle. If selling makes sense for you, we can show you a straight as-is number. It’s also smart to talk with your lender or an attorney.
Will you look at a rental that has tenants right now?
Yes, we’re glad to take a look. Every situation is different, so we’ll work with you on next steps that make sense.
Should I have an attorney look at the offer?
You’re always welcome to. Many sellers do, especially with estates or if they’re behind on payments.
Is there any obligation?
None. Get your price, think it over, and decide. If you’d like us to stop contacting you, just say so.
What areas do you buy in?
Bartow, Gordon, Floyd, Polk, Cobb, Cherokee, Paulding, and Chattooga counties, Georgia. Call if you’re nearby and not sure.
Ready for a straight as-is number?
No Pressure. No Hassle. Ready to Help. Free and no obligation. Leave what you don’t want.
